JoSAA counselling 2021 for seats allocation in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFITs was conducted in 6 rounds after the results for JEE (advanced) exam were published. Similarly for 2022 it will be conducted after JEE Advanced result. It is important for an aspirant to check how the seat allocation took place during last year to target the right colleges. It also helps the students in giving the right preference to the branch and college during the counselling process. While JEE main rank will be criteria of allocation of seats in NITs, IIITs and GFITs. JEE (Advanced) rank will be the criteria of allocation of seats for different IITs.
While this counselling was conducted in 6 rounds last year, it’s important that a candidate fills his/her top preferences first and try to get a seat allocated in the initial rounds based on the opening and closing ranks for the institute and branch the candidate is interested in.
